What we make

Nix Agents is a desktop workspace for coding agents: real terminals, one git worktree per task, and the diffs in reach before anything is merged. You bring the CLIs you already use and the accounts you already pay for; the app runs them on your machine.

The reason it exists is Windows. When this category started, the tools were Mac apps. A Windows machine could run the CLIs perfectly well — it just had nowhere sensible to put four of them. Nix Agents is that place, with native Windows PTY terminals rather than a compatibility layer.

Where the code came from

Nix Agents is a fork of Orca, the MIT-licensed agent workspace by Lovecast Inc.. The upstream solved the hard structural part; the modes, the Windows terminals, the worktree and merge handling, the skills system and the design are ours.

That is worth saying out loud. The full account is here, including which half is which.

What we do not do

We do not resell model access, and the app does not ask for an API key. There is no proxy between you and your provider, no per-request markup, and no copy of your code on anybody's server that you did not put there yourself. The agents run locally because that is where your repositories already are.
